Pilot of Short Stay applications for Highly Skilled Migrants as of January 1, 2012.
The Minister of Social Affairs and Employability (SZW) has added a component to (the Implementing Regulations of) the Foreign Nationals Employment Act (WAV). With this amendment Highly Skilled Migrants (HSM) are entitled to reside and work in the Netherlands for a so called Short Stay; a period up to 3 months. The application of a Work Permit will be simplified following specific regulations. Thus the UWV (National Labour Directorate) is able to make a decision within two weeks. The ‘HSM Short Stay Pilot Procedure’ is only available to applicants if the employer is admitted to the regular HSM Procedure. (source: www.overheid.nl)
